I know we started off with a 1983, but I moved and had to sell the car. But I bought a new one and we are starting over!

To start it off we picked up a 1979 Mustang for $200.00 it is a roller and is missing hood fenders and front bumper.

I got ambitious next... And I bought a 1996 Ford Mustang GTS.... Yeah a 2v 4.6.... and it has a blown head gasket...

I paid $650 for it...

Now I needed some Caster Camber Plates... So I had to get the bests for that... Maximum Motorsports provided them.


Next I bought a head gasket replacement kit from Ford Racing.

      Okay, so for those who are reading, or just watching and dont already get what we are going to do I will spell it out...


      We are going to swap the entire 96 drivetrain, wiring, computer, axles, wheels, etc over into the 1979

      Its going to be a blast guys! With the light weight we should be in the 12s in time for a first pass on the track this summer!

Well Daytona 500 and I got to work on this beast.

First we started by literally just taking everything out of the interior of the car since I had been using it to store parts.

Then we started ripping apart the interior. I got mad and ended up just kicking it in to get it out because I didnt want it anyway! So tons of parts went straight to the dump.

Next we got dirty and we tore the rest of the interior, the dash, and all the wiring out of the car. I want a bare car to start with and we can work from there. Wires are heavy right?

We finished all of the wiring ripping out and then we dropped the K member and the entire rear axle out of the car as well.

After that I cleaned the car a bit and then decided if I had everything out of the way why didnt I just put in a little more work and paint it... We know what color I was going to use right? FLAT BLACK of course! I love it!

After the paint had dried somewhat I started installing our UPR K Member. It fits easy enough. It is held on by 8 bolts. 2 right behind the shock area and the other 2 are lower and closer to the firewall. I zapped them all in with my air impact and called it good.

And here is how she sits... I went out and spent $26 on bolts to bolt my A arms on too! Grade 8 only!

Well guys, my main man at UPR hooked me up big time... He said he loves the build and he is sending a big bunch of boxes my way. I am pretty super stoked about this guys... Here is what we bought... Note guys I am now a UPR Dealer so if you want some of these parts let me know and I can hook you up with a better deal then you will find anywhere else.


Viking Double Adjustable Rear Coil Overs---- We asked for 12 inch 110 lb. springs

Strange Front Struts 10 way adjustable --- These will really help us lock down how we want the car to sit as well as give us that nice ride and great launches...

Viking Front Springs - 14 inch 125 lbs springs our front springs are too heavy. (We have 250 lb springs currently)

Upper & Lower Heavy Duty Torque Box Kit ----This is MANDATORY on a foxbody seriously...We dont want to mess up the car launching hard.

Pro Rear Kit -This things is going to rock... It has Chrome Moly Adjustable Race Lower control arms, Chrome Moly Double Adjustable race upper control arms, Anti-Roll Bar with roller bearings, and 7075 Billet Spherical housing bushing kit. This is going to help us get 1.5 sec 60 fts!

Bushing Removal Kit ---We are taking out the 8.8 bushings.... Its going to suck this tool will help a TON.

Full Length Subframe Kit ----- This is the 1st thing anyone should buy when they buy a foxbody. Seriously, these cars need this item so bad, but once you have it... Worlds of difference!


So yeah we spent $1450.00 getting those parts.... Look hard and you can beat that with used parts no problem.

Well I sold the exhaust off the 1996 from the H pipe back, and the drivers side mirror. $95.00 towards the project!
