Back of passenger side head

What is the piece that goes on the back of the pass head. Looks like something to do with the coolant flow. Is this needed? Where does it run to?

They go to the heater core, but i had to cut mine off and put two 90 degree hoses on them to get them to work. If your not running heat just loop them back together.

I'm not running. Heater. Might just make a block off plate.

Looping it will keep circulation in the back cylinders helping cool them

You could just get some freeze plugs, then drill and then silver solder on some brass fittings. Punch them into the top of the head by the intake runners.
