I myself did the eyelet change over it was pretty easy really, but now that I'm deeper in my swap and want a functional cruise and as much new sn95 stuff for plug and play reasons I'm going to swap the entire pedal box now

so does the only way to do this involve welding?
Raymond, there are probably ten different ways to do this. Cruise through the different build threads and you see several.
