32V fox throttle cable and clutch cable question

new to the mod motor world and had a few questions. I need to make ten posts before i can download or view pics so the questions may have already been answered.
First i am doing a 32v swap with a t45 trans to start. i have engine sitting in vehicle just for mock up and it seems the clutch cable will not fit between engine and firewall.
Second What throttle cable is needed for this swap i will be using the 98 cobra intake. does the throttle cable mount in the factory location as well? Seems like that may have clearence issue with firewall and engine spacing as well.

Thanks for the help huge project on my hands

Several companies, like Saleen and Maximum Motor Sports, make cable assemblies for Fox Mustangs. I used one that I bought from Mustangs Unlimited - don't remember the brand name. With a T-45 transmission, everything clears very nicely but the problem I had was there wasn't enough adjustment on the end of the cable. I've got to put a spacer, about a quarter inch I.D., half inch O.D. and maybe an inch long between the nut on the cable and the arm that operates the throwout bearing. Some of the kits have a second adjuster that goes on the firewall. If you have it, you'll want to install it before you mount the Hydroboost power brake unit.

The throttle cable for the 32 valve Cobra works with the existing gas pedal. One of the screw holes may not align with the holes in the firewall, but it's easy to drill a new hole in the firewall if the engine isn't in place. With the engine in place, that's another matter. If you're planning to have cruise control, grab the electronic unit from the donor car. Depending on how much of the Modular wiring you're going to keep, the electronic unit is easily wired to the Fox steering column and it's much more reliable than the semi-mechanical cruise control used on Foxes.

You'll also need a special speedometer cable if you keep the mechanical speedo. See my post under "Modular Conversion Discussion".

I said "Saleen" in the post above but should have said "Steeda". BBK is another company that makes a clutch cable kit. Here's a link to their installation video.
