89 Fox project with terminator engine France

well ! where to start ?

this fox started its life as a 4 cyl car, the 4 cyl was swapped to 5.0 which was a big deal here in France as you can source parts for a classic mustang but you have to wake up early to find fox parts ...
first I 'd like to thank all the guys stationned in Germany to source parts fr the 1st swap. most of them are now back in the US but thanks again for your help you guys

now with the new : I ahve been collecting parts for nearly 4 years now to swap to a Teksid terminator engine !! the block is from a 96 mark VIII, all others components from 03 or 04 cobra's.
during this time, I have been searching the web for informations and printed approx 100 pages for this conversion : from differents ways to wire the fox to how to build the engine.
a couple of monthes ago while reading another time, I decided to wire the fox with 03 cobra harnesses !! so back to eb$$ to find them.
I think it is the easiest way to do the swap, I will use the 03 cobra cluster in the fox dash.

no pict at the moment, I am on vacation in Germany, drinking beers and visiting castles and so on

Your ride will be a real head turner when your done!!! Are emissions stricter or more lax over there.

emissions are strict and officially check every 2 years. moreover, the stang will still be registered as a 4 banger and that will not help. hopefully, the guy at the local emission station is a good friend of mine ...

I admire your determination in the face of harder-to-get parts and help. I am here in the U.S, among all of the parts I could ever want and it is still hard for me (mine is a money issue!) and you are doing this 5,000 miles from any source of parts! I will be looking in on your swap/build, and thank you for proving that it can be done no matter the limitations. :)

thanks, it can be done, not cheap but it takes time and frustration, because it is at least 15 days between the time you place a parts order and when you receive it, but the most difficult part of the job is the translation of manuals and I have so many hours and money invested in this project I have to finish it.
I have 3 Teksid 4.6L blocks here and parts to assemble them as long blocks for 2 of them and 1 for my terminator engine.
last year I tried to sell one of them for $1000 and I had not even a phone call !!
people here are classics oriented, you have the choice to buy a 40 year old car but if you are going FOX or SN95, nobody has parts or knowledge ...

money is an issue, if I buy a $100 part, when it arrives at my door it is a $200 part !! that is one of the reason that I have been collecting parts for 4 or 5 years

I can believe it, money-wise. I have shipped parts internationally and just the shipping was more than the part!

I have parts here that I have for sale for less than I paid for them and nobody wants them either. We have a huge choice here, and abundant information. That can be a negative, just as too little information can be!

I kind of have the same problem up here close to Fairbanks Alaska. Finding anything that I can use for a mustang build is few and far between. Good luck with your build.

Getting ready for my termi fox build also. Been gathering info for 2 years will be interested in how you tackle this project.

as fot what is scheduled next winter : put the fox on stands, unbolt rearend and swap axles ( my 00 axles are too long for my 17*9 wheels, so need to order fox length axles), and stripping the interior in order to swap the 03 wiring harness and make necessary electrical connections with the fox instrument cluster
that will be all for this winter, or maybe drop the new 03 cobra tank in if I have enough time.

have to finish my 71 barracuda at the same time
