Metco 4lb Installation Question

My 4v 03 Cobra engine and transmission are out of the car and on a pallet. I'm having problems removing the crank pulley bolt; both the crank pulley and dampner are rotating at the same time.

I cannot put the car in gear as instructed in order to get it to lock-up enough for the removal.

Any ideas?

what i did was put a pipe wrench to hold the crank while i broke it loose. definently NOT the best way. but it worked for me.


Thanks for the description. I thought about doing that, but wasn't sure if the bolt was attached to the crank or if it would spin freely. I have a 3/4" torque impact wrench and will be doing what you suggested. thanks!
