Need help, new to modular swap

Ok here goes. I have an 86 mustang 4 cyl. Waiting for a 4.6 swap. I haven't started the project yet, just acquiring as many as the parts as possible before beginning. I need help with parts unknown to me...
I have the 4.6 victor jr. Intake
msd controller
Teksid block
PI heads
95 T-bird front cover
And a t45
I'm about to buy a granatelli k member and Arm kit with coils for a 96-04 locally pretty cheap, still new.
a manual rack.
still need to get a manual brake kit (haven't decided on which one)?
which tie rods do I use with the manual rack because the k member kit pushes the wheels out 3/4 inch or so?
I still need to acquire an 8.8, i would like the 5 lug conversion but which would be best suited with the front wheel stance, fox or the wider sn95?
Does anyone make an aluminum driveshaft for the t45/8.8 fox? Or would that be a custom length?

Thanks for any and all help in advance, if there is anything you'd do differently please let me know. Btw this car is going to be 50track/50street

Get the MM if your going to road race, Team-z Drag
a manual rack.
Manual racks are terrible on the street but your choice
still need to get a manual brake kit (haven't decided on which one)?
If your going to road race the car you need power brakes, get a hydraboost from a 96-98 cobra or newer one will wok but require a little welding

What rack are you going to use?

Either will work. You going drums or disc on the back?

I believe the stock T45 drive shaft will fit.

Drag or 1320 or Both?

Save yourself some money. Go buy a wrecked 96-98 cobra, 99-01 cobra, 03-04 Mach, and swap all the parts. It will cost double the way your doing it. There's a pile of stuff your missing. If going to the effort of making the swap why not go 4V?

Sorry, I should've said drag race. I really should've bought a wrecked one and swapped parts. But for some reason a wrecked mustang where I'm from aren't cheap at the auctions. I'm hunting for deals as my shopping list progresses. Got the t45 complete for cheap, Came across the k member locally, I can't remember the brand of the manual rack but I have to find out soon (it's at the shop) traded a billet timing set for it (460) and I already had a wrecked 95 tbird and 97 mark viii... Just trying to use the parts I have to make a fast and simple car then junk the rest
I'd prefer disc in the back but it not necessary. This is more of a budget build rather than a wild build. Plus want it as light as I can get the car too.

I just did a 2v swap with the 96 to 98 control arms and spindles and will be swapping back to fox length arms and 94-95 spindles as the front wheels stick out quite a bit. Out of personal choice I would not run with out power steering or brakes for street driving just think of that one time youve gotta stop fast and cant because of the manual brakes.

Modular swap and cheap build are usually words that are not in the same sentence lol

I know it's not cheap to swap a modular. I could've gone the typical 5.0 route but when I saw the hotrod article on the carbed 4.6 I knew I wanted to do it. I know that I could've gone carbed 4.6 in the 95 T-bird, but they're heavier cars. I want it light and simple... So thas when I decided on the 86 to use since parts are more readily available. I know it's not gonna be cheap but so far I've had luck finding deals.

It's not going to be my daily driver or anything too regular street driven. Maybe just on cruise nights and drag weekends.I have a 08 gt supercharged for daily driving in summers. If I don't like the manual rack/brakes I'll have to hunt down a complete hydra boost system. Or if I find a deal on a hydra boost setup before I buy the manual brake kit, I'll opt for whichever is cheaper/more convenient. Until then I'll still stick with the plan I guess.

All i can tell you is search the bay day and night looking for deals, i have spent countless hours looking trying different searches, dont just search mustang search any car that you can use parts off of, it helps to know what will interchange with the swap. My car is half mustang, quarter lincoln mark VIII, and a quarter 96 cobra LOL.

I use cobra brakes up front with a SN95 disc setup in the rear. My car is a street setup with full drag suspension) If your going solid drag then you may want the SN95 brakes up front. The SN95 brakes are cheap and you can run 15" rims in the front. I have to run 17" skinnies to clear the rotors in the front to clear the cobra brakes. I used the SN 95 rear because it was initially cheap. The brakes clear 15" rim so I can run slicks.

I run stock 04 K-member, team-z a-arms, 14" QA1 coil overs with 275 lb spring and Single adjust QA1 struts (front) and UPR 8" rear coil over with QA1 single adjust shocks. Team Z lowers and adjustable upper control arms. Rear end is a SN95 8.8, 31 spline TEN axles, Ford racing 31 spline carrier, carbon clutches, 4.10's and a 9.5" rims with 7" backspacing and 275 MT drag radials. If your staying NA go 4.30 or 4.56 gears.

I'm glad I found this thread. Speedtospare, you've answered a lot of the questions I was going to have. If I'm reading your post right, I'll be able to use the k member from wifey's mach?

JJ331 I would advise to get everything from the car LOL and when i say everything i mean leave a BARE hull. Get the interior, ALL THE WIRING, drivetrain, and did i mention ALL THE WIRING, etc. dont leave anything because when you come down to needing something you will have it.

I put a 96 cobra harness in my coupe fit like a glove, all my troubles came when i had to start gathering parts from different cars, so you should be good to go since the donor is complete.
