New Project "Dark Side"

Dark Side

Member
Hello to all! I am new to this site and i am starting my next project I call Dark Side. It is an 89 Fox with a 03 4.6 and a T-56. I have had the car for 5 years and mainly did bolt on's until now. I have toyed with the idea of doing a mod swap for years and finally going to pull the trigger. My friend had a 2003 gt with a pro built MMR engine and 2.3 l whipple charger with a dyno sheet at 758 hp to the rear wheels. He wreaked the car (rear end) and it had sat for about 6 months. He decided to part it out and sold me the motor, trans, all wiring (inside & out) driveshaft, steering column, keys, and all performance parts. I got a really good start on parts.

I am pretty good with electronics and wiring diagrams so i think i can feel my way thru the wiring aspect. My first real question is the K member. Which one should I purchase? I bought a Granatelli kit # GM-s7993DRP that i was going to put in for drag racing (which what i was previously going to do) but now with the new plan it will be set up for the weekend autocross. So i do not think this k member will workbut i wanted to ask the forum before i sent it back to Summit. i will be posting pics on Monday or tuesday as I will actually start the project then.

Any and all help is very much appreciated.

Autoscross: MM K-member is the only way to go. Drag go Team-Z. Good luck with the build. Make sure you grab the fuel tank, brakes, and hydroboost as well.

If your looking to be cheap you can just use the stock 03-04 Cobra K-member. It takes about 30 minutes worth of work to get it to fit. You need to trim the back where it has the 4 small bolts by about 3/8" and elongate 2 bolt holes. For road racing use the SN95 control arms as there wider but still fit within the stock fox fenders. Install the cobra brakes on the SN 95 spinals and your good to go.
