88 Mustang LX convertible 5.0
Hi my name is Aaron. I am new here. I have an 88 LX convertible pushrod 5.0 and I want to convert it to either a DOHC or 4.6 3v. I have already learned alot from this site and took some notes. I will probably end up finding a Mark VIII for a donor car. It sounds like it might be my best least expensive option. I am also probably going to use some of the IRS parts that fit if I go the Mark VIII route.
My dash is in perfect shape and I definitely need a good working defroster for the cold Ohio winters so I will probably keep my dash instead of converting and cutting a new edge dash to fit.
Anyways, Thanks for this awesome forum.

Hey Aaron. Welcome to the party. The Mark VIII IRS does not fit into a Mustang, but the 99-04 Cobra IRS units do. The Lincoln is a good source for a 4valve if that is the direction you want to go. It sounds like all you need to do is get started. You are in the right place.

Hey Aaron I'm down on the east side of Cincinnati. Doing a coyote swap into an 86. If you need anything we should definitely stay in touch to bounce ideas around.
