Very nice coupe. If I were you I'd go straight for the tubular k-member though if you have the extra money. I regretted it after I put mine in, although it is nice and easy to jack up the whole front of the car on the stock one.

If you need any help with anything feel free to ask, I did the swap in my garage with my dad over a few months, and we did everything ourselves. (Other than the tig welding for the a/c)

It's been awhile. I was beginning to think I was never going to get to work on my own stuff there for awhile. Today I move my car onto my floor lift and got the old brake booster /master cylinder out. I managed to get the new hydroboost system in place before needing to stop. My plan is to finish the brakes and 03 Cobra pedal swap before taking on the wiring and engine mods. 20160425_140406.jpg 20160425_162739.jpg

I'm using the whole assembly. I have my old fox automatic pedal assembly. I'll cut out the portion needed from the fox that has the mounting point for the steering column. My plan is to dry fit everything out of the car to get it close, then I'll install the cobra assembly and tack weld the rest in place. I'll finish welding it out of the car. I'll post pics and what I'm doing as I go.

Just going to post some pictures tonight of the initial mock up. I haven't welded it yet, or test fit it yet. I took a lot of measurements from the stock unit and so far I believe that I'm really close. I'll test fit it tomorrow when I'm fresh.20160515_232501.jpg

I had a moment the other day to install the pedal assembly...nothing welded up yet. I found that I had to move the fox pedal box portion over half an inch to get the colum bolted in place, but so far looks like I'm right on track to tack weld it in place after grinding a couple spots. I found using my old AUTO pedal assembly to be useful since there wasn't a clutch rod tube welded in place. By cutting the fox AUTO pedal box where the clutch tube goes through in a "C" shape, it really takes the guess work out. I would still put the two parts in the car and tack weld in place with the steering column bolted on to get a proper fit. I'll post some detailed photos soon.

Maybe I missed it, but why use the newer style pedals? Are you doing a SN dash swap? Just to be different or.... My personal favorite, to get tilt with a. Air bag wheel in a fox (with fox dash)?

I'm doing the pedal swap to go with the hydroboost swap. The hydro boost has a different angle when connecting to the brake pedal. I could cut the pushrod and reweld it at the proper angle, but the newer pedals come with the advantage of being slightly farther apart with bigger pads....and the cobra pedals look so much nicer. My fox came stock with a tilt column..if I ever did a dash swap, I would install a newer 05 style dash. So much cleaner looking. Just my opinion, but the SN dash just doesn't look right in a fox.

I don't necessarily mind the dash, it's the door panels that never seem to look right. I'm sure someone has done it nicely and I haven't seen it though.

I wanted to put a tilt in, but use an air bag wheel. Really just because you don't see it ever.

I've seen one clean install with door panels that looked factory installed...I'm sure it wasn't a cheap install either. I'm sure there's a way to accomplish what you're trying to do. Nothing a little elbow grease and some trial and error can't fix. Good luck with your project :)

Time and place are my issues. I don't have a garage where I can take it apart and take my time anymore. I was always in a mad dash when building the car, and all things considered, it's been great. As long as I can throw it sideways in 4 gears with the AC on, the rest is insignificant:)

It definitely helps to have a place to work on your ride. I agree, it's all about the enjoying what you created! A/C is definitely an added bonus :)

So I finally had a moment to finish the pedal assembly. Just a quick note, if you decide to do this, the oval-shaped hole at the top of both assemblies makes a good reference. Once I had everything mocked up, I fit it in the car..made some final cuts and reinstalled it and made one good spot weld. At that point I pulled the pedals out carefully and finished welding it outside the car. Huge note here. ..if you spot weld in the car, make sure to take the time to pull your carpet back, or lay down some welding blankets. I am choosing not to paint my pedal assembly, no one will see it anyway.
I'll add some photos of the pedals installed as soon as possible.

Got the pedal assembly installed with the hydro boost. I'm extremely happy to say it fits as it should and looks amazing. I'll finish installing the steering column later this week. I want to replace the steering shaft boot first.

That looks awesome. Very good work and tech.
Thanks Bill! I'm hoping I can get this beast running again soon. I have a pile of new parts just waiting to go in, but a huge lack of time lately.
